Mulena Naka Group (which some people misspell as Mulenaka Group) has been showing up on people’s payslips illegally. Even though you may have never heard of them, you might be hit with deductions that go on for months.
The question is, who is Mulena Naka Group and how do they get on innocent people’s payslips?
Who are Mulena Naka Group
Mulena Naka Group describe themselves as an appliances, electrical, electronics manufacturing and software company. They are located in Kalundu, Lusaka but have offices in different parts of the country.
According to LinkedIn, their staff includes:
- Joseph Masauso Zulu
- Abraham Chiti
- Chabota Mbola

How do they get on your payslip?
Mulena Naka Group is in the business of loaning devices such as smartphones and laptops to civil servants. The deductions are made through PMEC, meaning they will appear on payslip.
However, many people who have never borrowed anything from them, or even heard of them, have seen them pop up on their payslips. To avoid making serious allegations, let’s just focus on getting them off and getting your money back.
You are not alone. Here are some complaints I found on Facebook.

How to get Mulena Naka Group off your payslip
Contact them on the phone numbers given above. Be firm and ask them to produce the following:
- Copy of the loan agreement
- Proof of disbursement (where the money was sent)
- Any identification used to process the loan
Without these three documents, they have no legal right to be on your payslip. Demand that they STOP the deductions and RETURN all the money they’ve so far deducted.
If contacting them does not yield any results, it’s time to take a more serious step and report them to the Bank of Zambia.
How do I report Mulena Naka to the Bank of Zambia (BoZ)?

Most people are intimidated by the idea of contacting the Bank of Zambia for the purpose of reporting illegal payslip deductions. However, it is easy. No need for a lawyer. All you need is a clear complaint with solid evidence.
First, prepare the following documents:
- Copies of your payslips showing the deduction
- Copy of your NRC
- Any written communications with Mulena Naka Group (if you have contacted them.)
- A short written explanation of what happened.
To submit these documents, you can either use email or visit them in person.
Submitting your complaint via email
Before you send your complaint, I would advise you to first call BoZ then ask them the exact email to use for your complaint.
If you want, however, you can send your documents to the Bank of Zambia’s email on info@boz.zm
In your message include:
- Your full name, phone number and email address.
- The name of your employer.
- The name of the company deducting money which is Mulena Naka Group.
- When the deductions started.
- Make it clear in a statement that you never authorized or obtained any form of loan from Mulena Naka Group.
- Finally, attach all the documents listed above.
In your email, be brief and to the point. Here is a guide with a simple email structure.
Subject: Unauthorized Loan Deduction by Mulena Naka Group
Email body: Explain that money is being deducted without your consent. Name the company (Mulena Naka Group) and clearly state that you never made any agreement with them. In the last paragraph, state that you want the deductions to stop and all the money they got from you should be refunded.
Submitting your complaint by visiting BoZ offices
Going to the Bank of Zambia offices in person is even better than calling them or sending them an email.
At the reception, explain that you have a company deducting your money illegally. They will guide you to the right office where you will submit your complaint.

Final thoughts on Mulena Naka Group appearing on your payslip
I think unions should do something about this. There seems to be a lot of people going through this.
I would advise you to be careful before getting either money or gadgets on loan from Mulena Naka Group.
Instead, if you are in need, you might try Zamloan as a civil servant. You can get from K10, 000 to more than a K20,000.
