If you are one of those civil servants having deductions on your payslip by Firmstone Money Lending solutions, you might want to contact them. I’ll also give you steps to take in case they fail to get off your payslip refund your money.
Who are Firmstone Money Lending Solutions?
Firmstone Money Lending also operates as Firmstone Investments Limited. According to their website, they are a registered financial company under the Companies Act, 2017.
Although we did not find them on the list of financial institutions registered with the Bank of Zambia, their website says they are registered with the Ministry of Finance.
They list their services as being limited to just offering regulated credit, loans, and advances. They are exclusively focused on civil servants/government employees.
Firmstone’s mainly recovers their loans via payslip PMEC deductions. Somehow, something happens with the system resulting in deductions when there should not be any.

Getting Firmstone off your payslip
There are two types of problematic deductions by Firmstone. The first is where you get a loan from them, pay them back in full, but still have them deducting money on your payslip.
The second method is where they appear on your payslip out of the the blue even though you did not borrow anything from them. This is what to do to get them off and get your money back.
First contact them
Use the details above to contact them. Explain their illegal deductions and request a copy of:
- any agreement between you and them.
- copy of your NRC that you should have used to get the loan.
- and proof of money being sent to you.
Without these three things, they have no right to be on your payslip.
You also should prepare the following documents:
- Copy of your NRC
- Copy of all payslips where their deductions appear
- A written statement in which you should explain your grievance and demand for refund of all the money they have so far deducted.
Report them to the Bank of Zambia
If contacting Firmstone Money Lending does not yield any results, it’s time to report them to the Bank of Zambia.
You can either send an email with the necessary documents attached, or you can visit BoZ offices in person.
The documents you should present are:
- Your NRC
- Payslip showing Firmstone’s deductions
- Copies of any communication you may have had with Firmstone.
- A consice statement clearly stating that you have illegal deductions by Firmstone, that you have no agreement with them, and that you want the deductions to stop and your money refunded.
You might also want to sue Firmstone Money Lending (Firmstone Investments Limited). We will explain how to go about it in another article.
